Our menu offers the very best in traditional British pub food using fresh locally sourced produce. Our specials boards cater for more adventurous appetites and also give us the flexibility to offer daily changing fresh fish specials. We share the ethos of Hugh's Fish Fight and source our fish responsibly. Our 'Fish Fight Friday' showcases more unusual & more sustainable fish for you to try such as Bream, Ling, Jack Mackerel & Witch Sole.

During the week we offer lighter meals on our 'Best of British' specials. A selection of light meals for only £6. From bangers & mash to devilled kidneys or occasionally a very British balti, these also change on a regular basis.

On Sundays* we serve from 12-8pm. There are always plenty of specials to choose from but our most popular dish is the fantastic roast rib of Boxted beef served with all the trimmings. You'll usually find loin of Great Wigborough pork and if you're lucky a roast haunch of local venison or leg of Bures hogget. All the roast dinners are served with homemade Yorkshire puddings and our famous Real Gravy, two courses for £14 and three courses for just £18.

As our food is cooked to order we can easily cater for any dietary requirements. Gluten free gravy & batter is usually available and there are always vegetarian options on our menu and specials boards. To make sure we can offer the best choice for you please mention your dietary requirements when booking.

Our talented pastry chef prepares all of our desserts on site and they change on a regular basis, if you've got a favourite feel free to tell us when you book and we'll try to make sure it's available!
