3rd Mount Bures Beer Festival We are holding our 3rd Beer Festival at The Thatchers Arms, and it is going to be even bigger & better than before! The 5 Day festival will be held in our function room with live music Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights. There will be 20 Real ales sourced predominantly from Essex & Suffolk micro breweries, including a specially brewed beer from the Mersea Island Brewery to commemorate our 100th guest ale since taking over in November 2006. There will of course be our ever changing World Beer selection. We also asked for your help to choose some of the beers on sale at the festival. We wanted to include some beers from further afield and just couldn't choose! We narrowed it down to 25 Champion Beer of Britain award winners and you to voted, the top three most popular beers will go on sale at our festival, the votes are in, but you will have to come to the festival the see 'The Peoples Choice' One lucky voter will receive a free case of Mersea Island Ale*, voting is now closed, the winner will be notified by email before the beer festival. For those of you who can't decide who is driving we are able to offer limited camping facilities. There is no electric or shower facilities but toilets will be made available throughout the night. All we ask is that you let us know in advance, donate a small sum of money to the Essex Air Ambulance, and clear up after yourselves.
